While you’re busy treating others carelessly or maliciously, particularly the ones you’re supposed to care for and love, just keep this one thing in mind: Even if there comes a time when they actually forgive you, you may be left with only a “shell” of a relationship – if any at all. Forgiveness may be found in the human heart, but the memory of the treatment still lingers to some degree in the mind. A wise person knows this and is careful to conduct himself accordingly.
Don’t go into this new year with a heart full of worries and frustration. You were never meant to fight these battles alone. Complete self-reliance in hope for a positive change to come creates even more burden since without God, we can do absolutely nothing. Let Him help you along the way; let Him be your Rock as He is the only one who can get you where you really want to be.
Disrespectful behavior will repeat itself as long as you allow it. As nice as you are, you must have boundaries for your life set in place as to what is acceptable from others and what’s not. People sometimes tend to confuse ‘niceness’ for weakness and for mere stupidity. It is always best to be nice and polite as a good attitude would open amazing doors for you, but absolutely, positively, without a shadow of a doubt — Have A Backbone. Stand up for yourself when necessary. You are worth it: You are worthy of respect.
Not everyone will understand you or your life’s purpose, but once you know what that is, never feel pressured to make anyone else understand. Your purpose is for you to recognize and for you to fulfill.
