Her blood-curdling scream filled the air, yet the woods behind the mansion was eerily quiet and paid no attention to her desperate cry for help. Tina Sheffield was staring at the thing that had just slid out of her — still attached to the other end of the umbilical cord. She wanted to get up and run out of there as fast as her legs could take her, but her physical connection to the one that shared her DNA prevented her from being able to do so. Furthermore, blood and a watery substance had settled beneath her and between them. She wished she had a pair of scissors, a knife or any sharp tool to cut the fleshy cord and separate herself forever from the newborn with the beaming, green eyes and grotesquely distorted face. She was hyper-ventilating and felt that she was about to lose all sense of consciousness when she heard a dangling of keys near the front door, then the door opening and shutting again.

“Tina, I’m home!” went the voice she was so relieved to hear.

“Trent!” She cried at the top of her lungs still staring at what lay in front of her. “Hurry! Please!”

Holding the plastic bag that contained the large bowl of vanilla ice-cream, Trent came upon a sight on his living room floor that absolutely shocked him.

“Oh my God! What in the world…” He quickly put the bag down and rushed over to Tina.

Tina was drenched in tears. “Get a scissors or a knife quickly, Trent! Cut the cord! Please cut this frigging cord!” She pleaded.

“Okay,” Trent was suddenly feeling nauseous; his mind racing and unearthly thoughts flooding his brain. He ran to the kitchen for a large knife and seconds later, was back.

“Cut it!” Tina demanded.

“Where?” He asked nervously.

Trent’s hand was shaking as he attempted to sever the umbilical cord. He looked away as the thing snapped cleanly in two. Tina backed away hurriedly, still on her buttocks as more liquid gushed from her body with the hasty movement.

“I’ll… I’ll get some towels,” Trent said, rushing upstairs.

Tina sat against the wall shaking violently as if on the verge of a melt-down. The baby had managed to get a thumb near its lips and was now lightly sucking it. Trent returned moments later and took the large towel over to Tina. He helped her as she placed it against her vagina to stop the dripping. He then hurried over to the baby, knelt down beside it and gently picked it up.

“We have to get you to the hospital,” Trent said to Tina.

With her eyes still fixated on the infant, she asked, “What is that?”

Trent grimaced. “Tina, it’s our baby.”

“No!” She protested. “It’s not! It’s not our baby, Trent! How could it be our baby?”

“What do you mean it’s our baby? Look at it! It’s a monster! Can’t you see?”

Trent was at a loss for words.

“What’re we gonna do with it?”

“What do you mean?”

“I have to go to the hospital, so what’re we gonna do with it?”

“Tina, the baby’s coming with us,” Trent said matter-of-factly.

“Oh no, it’s not.” She shook her head. There was now a strange calmness in her voice. “That thing is not coming anywhere with me. No one’s gonna know that I gave birth to such a hideous, ungodly creature.”

Then suddenly, her eyes widened as she saw that the child had instantaneously and inexplicably assumed full human form. His black hair was pencil straight and his eyes, brown and entrancing.

“Oh my goodness, do you see that?” She asked, as if disbelieving her own eyes.

“Yes, honey. I see our beautiful baby,” Trent replied, realizing that something on the inside of Tina had snapped.

“What’s wrong with me? Am I seeing things?” She asked earnestly.

He was afraid to answer. The baby started to cry.

“Bring him to me,” Tina urged.

Trent carefully handed the child to her.

“He looks just like you, honey.” She held the infant closely. “He has your eyes.”

“He does. Doesn’t he?” Trent smiled.

They gazed lovingly at the child whose arrival they had anxiously awaited. However, not envisioning for a moment that he would arrive into the world on his father’s living room floor.

“We have to get you two to the hospital,” Trent reminded Tina.

“Okay,” she smiled, now accepting of the idea that both mother and baby would be going.

He took the baby and helped Tina up off the floor.

I would like to give my review on the book Seeing beyond the natural student me…….Professor :God by Tanya Taylor

Before reading this book I never realized that I had the mind set that I didn’t deserve God’s favour. I have said it many times and to me I felt my faith was strong but deep down there was doubt. I felt I was not Christian enough or sanctified enough to truly be blessed by God.

The name of this book truly is a message from God letting all of us know that no matter how dirty or unworthy we may feel as human beings, God loves us. He loves us in all our imperfections, in all of our mistakes, in all of our sin and iniquities. He loves us because in all of that dirt….He sees a diamond in its rarest form.

This book also tuned my eyes and mind to the evil that lurks to devour and destroy us. It has given me the tools I need to fight this evil. This book is truly a gift from God to all who are beaten and down trodden in mind and spirit.

It is a message of hope.
Look forward to the 2nd book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!, March 30, 2014
This review is from: Seeing Beyond the Natural: Student: Me… Professor: God (Kindle Edition)

This book, if I could call it a book, because I would prefer to call it a blueprint or Manual of the Supernatural, was truly riveting and insightful. I could not put it down.

It is an abiding testament of the fact that as we draw nearer to our Creator, He will draw nearer to us and show us great and mighty things.

I was amazed by how the author was able to vividly show her journey, step by step, line upon line, and precept upon precept of the depth, height and magnitude of her relationship with our Lord, and at the same time seal these revelations with the Word of God.

Some may have a difficult time grasping some events that were mentioned, but as I read through the Manual, I could feel the veracity of what was being conveyed. It caused me to take an introspective look at my walk with my Saviour and desire even more and more of Him.

Truly, this Manual would enrich your personal library and would be an asset that causes you to reflect on where you are now and where you want to be in your walk with our Creator.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

5.0 out of 5 stars Seeing Beyond the Natural by Tonya R. Taylor, March 12, 2014
By ElizMNYC – This review is from: Seeing Beyond the Natural: Student: Me … Professor: God (Paperback)

First of all, I believe beyond a natural doubt that nothing happens by chance when it comes to Spiritual things of the kingdom. I stumbled into this book while using my daughters kindle fire and VERY glad I did! The author gives a very detailed account on supernatural experiences that points and gives God ALL THE GLORY! I was consumed by the accounts shared and could not put the book down. I would have paid a lot for this book because it was heartfelt and engaging. At least 80% of this book confirmed and mirrored my life experiences to the T. I wept, smiled and raised my hands in awe being blessed by “Seeing beyond the Natural”. For those who embrace the moving of the comforter in their life, there is no words I can add to this testimony but “priceless and comforting”. This book brought a sincere joyful revival into my spirit as the Spirit touched me through this author.

This life account covers a variety of experiences that describes like minded believers who God has been close to. Expect to receive encouragement and some wisdom if you have been there and thought you were somewhat of a odd one! Well, your not alone and as I read continuously I was so emotionally drawn in that it felt it was meant to be that I crossed path with this book for such a time as this. I believe Mrs. Tanya R. Brown (Taylor) and respect her for it. Wondering if you have written more books?? If she has not “please do” the anointing was spectacular and thank you so much for putting a new spring in my heart. For those who take the things of God seriously and those curious to know get the book but you need to be open minded and not be critical because you have not experienced the move of the Spirit just “yet”. These testimonies are much needed because they empower you as long as you keep your eyes on Him giving Him All the glory!

April 19, 2014 BOOK REVIEW by June Jarrett- Penn (Facebook)

“Seeing Beyond The Natural by Tanya Taylor was a fantastic Book, certainly worth the wait for a copy. I must say this Book captured my attention from start to finish. A few years ago I read another Book written by the Author but with this Book, I can truly say she has definitely out done herself. I too have what family members and a few friends call “weird” and “strange” occurrences.

“Through reading this Book I have learnt that I am not “weird”, a “freak” or “strange”, I was made to understand that I am in alignment “with the spiritual realm in such an awesome way” and that “some people who haven’t had these experiences can’t seem to wrap their heads around it, but as a person who often experience these things I know they’re true and no one can tell me any different”.

“Thank you Mrs. Taylor. I am sure there are many persons like myself whilst reading this Book stopped in awe at some of the similarities in your life and theirs…I sure did. I just want to wish you great success and may the Lord above continue to richly bless you and your family.”

When Anxiety Takes Over…

Many people today are having such a hard time just getting through the day. Waking up for some in the morning seems like more of a task than a blessing. For others, waking up in the middle of the night worrying about finances and other issues is something that happens to them quite regularly. Life is full of challenges and sometimes, you just don’t know what to do or how you’re going to make it. Unfortunately, many have gotten so frustrated and burdened that they felt they just couldn’t take another moment of this existence and decided to end it.

I know what it’s like to be at my wits end. I know what it’s like to feel like just ‘giving up’. I remember those days very well and because I’ve had days like that, my heart is filled with compassion for persons struggling with those debilitating situations and thoughts. I want to let everyone know that there is hope. Tomorrow will come and things will get better. That troubling, seemingly insurmountable circumstance is subject to change. What you deliberately convince yourself of is what will either turn the tide or keep you in that particular state. You can pull yourself out of it. Just know that you have what it takes to do the work that is needed to be done.

If only you can see yourself the way your Creator sees you and not how others perceive you or even you, yourself at this point in time, your life will conform to that belief.  I hope I have encouraged you today.

You Are Good Enough!

Have you ever felt, for whatever reason, that you just weren’t good enough? Did you ever get the impression that no matter what you did or how hard you tried, you just couldn’t seem to measure up to other people’s expectations? Most often, these feelings arise because of some incident that occurred early on in our lives that altered our mindset about who and how we really are. Here’s an excerpt from Chapter 15 of ‘Seeing Beyond the Natural, Student: Me … Professor: God’ that captures John and Lucy’s experience:

When Lucy first met her husband, John, she was instantly attracted to him. While dating for a few years, Lucy noticed really good qualities in John as well as some unappealing traits that she figured, in time, would go away. She loved him so much that she thought she could never live without him. She was ready to live the fairy-tale life and looked forward to a future filled with love, joy and endless romance.

John loved to watch love stories on television and listen to soft music. Lucy discovered early on that he was quite the poet as well. However, and quite ironically, he had a harshness about him that seemed to always rub her over the wrong way. This trait showed up frequently in the way he expressed himself. Although he was friendly and could be quite funny, his somewhat abrasive demeanor was not the type of thing Lucy was ever exposed to prior to them getting together and she struggled with it constantly. John would say something, and to Lucy, it sounded disrespectful because it wasn’t put mildly. She was immediately offended. Over the years, she felt like John wasn’t respectful enough, not affectionate enough and certainly not attentive enough. She felt that he was overly critical and nothing she said or did was good enough. Lucy started to feel unloved, unappreciated, deceived, and her heart became hard. She stopped caring; didn’t respect him as much anymore, and she certainly stopped trying to please him. Eventually, she began to feel such deep resentment inside for John and many times thought of divorcing him. When the resentment set in, she did not realize that she had opened a door for Satan to enter in and wreak more havoc in her life.

Lucy was certain that John never really loved her, but deceived her for his own selfish purposes. On top of all that, his actions made the devil’s lies even more convincing. After a series of negative events that almost certainly sent the young couple to divorce court, God prompted them to search their own hearts and what Lucy saw in hers grieved her.

God took her back to a time when she was just a child. While growing up, she never thought she was good enough for anyone. No one ever told her that she wasn’t, but she remembered one time her mother compared her to another young girl she didn’t even know. She remarked that Lucy should look more like the other girl. Her mother was referring to the girl’s size which happened to be a little smaller than Lucy’s frame. Instantly, something took root in Lucy’s heart that convinced her that she wasn’t good enough and that she had to be good enough in order to truly measure up to other people’s expectations.

Lucy never felt that she was special in her mother’s eyes and in spite of always wanting to see others comfortable and happy even as a child, she didn’t notice much of a reciprocation coming her way. When the Lord brought this episode to the surface of Lucy’s mind, she wept like a baby, knowing that what happened long ago was the source of her painful emotions and the attachment issues she had toward her husband in earlier years. She had always looked for acceptance from the people she loved and Satan conveniently used her husband’s imperfections to feed her pain. So when she felt like John was criticizing her, that negative feeling fed the sense of inadequacy she already had from years earlier and she put up a huge protective wall. Over the years, Lucy really thought John hated her, but as they embarked upon the healing process, he revealed some things that made her finally understand why he always acted the way he did.

I would like to say that no matter what you’ve been through or who said what to you to convince you that you are not good enough, it is a total lie! You are not mediocre – by no means. You are God’s Masterpiece. You are special and until you see yourself the way He sees you, you will allow the negativity that others threw at you to remain a part of you – a heavy burden that you were never meant to carry. Release that negativity today. Reject the lies and accept the truth of who you are. You were made in God’s image and from the very beginning, you were indeed good enough.
