Just Nine Days Away!

Excerpt:

“Okay, I hope you’re happy now,” Deed said to the ghost that stood next to him. “I told him the whole deal; now do you mind just going away for a while and giving me some extra room to breathe?”

They were both standing in the doorway watching as Trent reversed out of the yard.

“He won’t listen,” Peter said solemnly.

“Well, that’s just too bad. Ain’t it?” Deed gave him an irritated look. “Not my problem, buddy. Remember… I’m just the messenger.”

He turned around only to find Peter directly in front of him. “He loves her too much,” Peter said, his eyes so dull and lifeless—the looks of which made Deed want to take a drink.

“So what does that have to do with me?” Deed probed. “What’re you saying anyway? He loves her too much. What? What?”

Peter’s gaze was piercing. “You must warn him,” he said before vanishing into thin air.

Deed shook his head. “That guy’s determined to be a needle in my butt. The more you do for these blasted ghosts the more they want from you! Hell with it!” He slammed the front door.

* * *

This just can’t be happening, Trent thought. That Deed Grumbley guy must be out of his mind! Yet, deep inside Trent knew better—the guy had spoken with such veracity that only a fool would choose to ignore what had stared him right in the face. As he pulled into the parking lot of the hospital, the fact that Deed basically confirmed everything Tina had been telling him all the while weighed heavily on Trent. She was in a place he knew she didn’t belong and he had put her through so much emotional pain that he was certain she would never forgive him.

He picked up the single rose he had purchased at a stop light on his way there and walked into the building toward Palenski’s office.

“Come right in!” Palenski was standing at his desk. “When my secretary said you were here, I knew I couldn’t have you waiting as you’re a very busy man, Mister Matheson.”

Trent took a seat. He hadn’t recalled seeing Palenski that upbeat before and wondered if his partial consumption of the cup of coffee on his desk was responsible.

“Is that for me?” Palenski asked, eyeing the rose.

“I think not,” Trent replied, obviously in no mood for meaningless chatter and definitely not for jokes.

Palenski sat down. “Can I offer you some coffee or tea?”

“No thanks, Doc. I’m just here to see Tina and to find out how she’s progressing.”

“Well, the good news is that we might have pin-pointed the appropriate medication for her. She’s responding very well to it and after a little more observation, I would be able to revert to you. If she continues to do well, she will be back home with you and your baby in short order. However, the key is to ensure that she takes her medication precisely as prescribed because we don’t want any distressing episodes to arise as before. You know what I mean.”

“I do,” Trent affirmed.

“Well, I don’t want to keep you any longer than necessary, so I’ll walk with you to her room. We can chat on the way.”

5.0 out of 5 stars ‘CORNELIUS‘. “A great read of paranormal suspense.”

Format: Kindle Edition
“This is the first time reading one of Tanya R. Taylor’s books and I have to admit, I wasn’t disappointed. She is not new to the publishing world as she takes it by storm with fiction and non fiction genres. Amongst them, she writes mysteries, paranormal romance, religious thrillers, and science fiction just to name a few.

“‘Cornelius’ is a gritty ‘edge of your seat’ tale of paranormal forces, so if chilling, suspenseful, and down right nail biting pleasure is your thing, (with a splash of romance) then this novel is the one for you.

“It has a little bit of every flavor thrown our way with a non-stop reading experience of unimaginable consequence to suit all ages. The author ‘Tanya’ certainly has a vivid imagination using splendid scenery to really take us into the depth of her mind as the danger of darkness seeps through the cracks from another world.
Extremely strong characterization that captures the essence of discovering ‘Cornelius’ and I highly recommend it. ‘

‘Jealousy Stagnates’

Hi, Everyone. I’ve been so busy lately promoting my new book that I didn’t get a chance to blog about a topic that has been on my mind now for a little while. I’ve titled this blog: ‘Jealousy Stagnates’ for a very important reason that I’m about to lay out here right now.

Have you ever had a friend whom you always compliment even for the slightest thing like a new hair-do / hair cut or for even bigger things like a promotion on the job or some other type of success, yet for some reason when there’s something new about you / something worthy of a compliment, that friend is utterly quiet? Got any ‘friends’ like that? How does it feel to be the only one complimenting all the time as if you’re on a one-way street? I guess you’ve thought about it, but don’t really vocalize it- particularly to your friend.

The thing is… I realize that some people came from backgrounds where no one ever or rarely ever complimented them for anything they did that was noteworthy – whether in the smaller sense or the larger sense of the word – and so as they grow and mature, they don’t know how to express compliments to others even though they are now being complimented by others. They feel awkward expressing such kindness and therefore, they don’t put in the effort to break out of the box, so to speak. I’ve met some really good people that are like that: They really have that issue because they came from some unimaginably tough backgrounds and thus, being ‘nice’ like that is something they have to work on. Okay, with that out of the way, let’s get on to the crux of the matter (thusly, the title).

Many other people in this world today simply hate to see even the ones they claim to love, get ahead. That’s the fact of the matter. If they’re not doing something that’s positive and worthy of respect or accolades themselves, they don’t believe anyone else should receive any type of accolades or recognition (not that accolades is something you should be looking for). In other words, some people just have such contaminated hearts that they can’t see themselves happy for anyone. Those type of people are rightly in the ‘stagnated’ category… and they’ve put themselves there unknowingly. See, when a person is envious of another person, they find themselves not achieving those things that they greatly desire. It’s not that they don’t have the ability to achieve those things; it’s just that they’ve planted seeds of envy that have taken root and sprouted in their lives, and they find themselves stagnated seemingly like ‘forever’ from getting to the point where they really would like to be.

What’s the remedy?: Learn how to be happy for others. I have a whole chapter in ‘Seeing Beyond The Natural’ book that speaks about that. I knew it needed to be there. If people learn how to do that and actually work at it, they will find themselves moving forward in the direction they were ‘pre-destined’ to go. There’s no way they can miss their destiny. However, if they allow jealousy to consume them (some to the point where they can’t even pay a person a simple compliment) they will find themselves stagnated – most likely – permanently. What a sad, miserable way to exist.

Let’s rise above that negativity and be the best that we can be for ourselves and each other by having the right type of heart and mind-set as we continue our journey in this world.

Have a great day and all the best to you.

When Anxiety Takes Over…

Many people today are having such a hard time just getting through the day. Waking up for some in the morning seems like more of a task than a blessing. For others, waking up in the middle of the night worrying about finances and other issues is something that happens to them quite regularly. Life is full of challenges and sometimes, you just don’t know what to do or how you’re going to make it. Unfortunately, many have gotten so frustrated and burdened that they felt they just couldn’t take another moment of this existence and decided to end it.

I know what it’s like to be at my wits end. I know what it’s like to feel like just ‘giving up’. I remember those days very well and because I’ve had days like that, my heart is filled with compassion for persons struggling with those debilitating situations and thoughts. I want to let everyone know that there is hope. Tomorrow will come and things will get better. That troubling, seemingly insurmountable circumstance is subject to change. What you deliberately convince yourself of is what will either turn the tide or keep you in that particular state. You can pull yourself out of it. Just know that you have what it takes to do the work that is needed to be done.

If only you can see yourself the way your Creator sees you and not how others perceive you or even you, yourself at this point in time, your life will conform to that belief.  I hope I have encouraged you today.
